“A NEW FOUND FAMILY IN THE WORLD OF FREELANCING
2016 was a year of a great personal depression and a really challenging phase of my life.
Just like other success stories, these stage of life is needed for me to hone my character and persistence toward life. I often called this season of life as my valley experience. But gearing towards the end of that year, I saw a beacon of light as if I was under a tunnel of total darkness and the sudden glimpse of a bright light at the end of the tunnel spark the found new hope. Hope brings life again in the midst of uncertainties and dryness in the valley.
December 2016 is the turning point of my valley experience. Slowly as the light started to shine brightly, I also started to see the trail in which I needed to take on to start my journey of a very new but exciting strange terrain. The world of freelancing or online work from home thing.
Starting to climb the mountain of success is not an easy task. I needed to prepare myself to whatever I will encounter along the way. I needed to condition myself to persevere on my goal no matter what the circumstances will bring. Freelancing is a whole new world and adventure for me. As I was getting started on my journey, I am so blessed that God provided an aide or rather I will say a family, who will encourage and motivate me to pursue this discovered purpose in me.
December 6 when Ms. Amanda advised me that I was a candidate for the VA scholarship that this team is providing for VA newbies. A month prior to this encounter, I was having a hard time studying what this online stuff can bring to my family’s table. I had several rejected or ignored online applications plus the hassle and bustle of being a mother of two little kids adding also to it the creeping of the post-partum depression. And a total downturn of our family financial status.
Then I never heard from her again until January 8, 2017, and that was the orientation day for all the aspiring Virtual Assistants. Knowing that they value the culture of giving back gives me the feeling of belongingness. I really embraced that same value within me. I love to give back to my society and to the generation next to me. That is why even I was faced with a little setback due to the typhoon Nina, I persisted and find ways to attend to all the classes every Sundays and take on the challenge of finishing all the tasks and assignments despite the heavy schedule of being a homemaker.
And I am glad that I keep moving forward with the course and very near in graduating in it online. Hoping to graduate with a flying color as well. hehe!!! Here are the reasons why I hold on so tightly like a leech sucking up every learning that I can possibly get until the end;
1. Virtual Assistant Guide Team become my great support system and network as they always give me a motivation on holding and pursue my goals in life. I can describe the team as my remote/virtual family. I found Czarina Gadiano like a little sister to me. Jhay with an H and Conrad were like my older brothers. Ms. Amanda is like the older sister of the class. Giving me an encouragement every now and then or scolding me at times by reminding me what to do and not to do. Sir Jay and Ma’am Lyn (without H) were like parents who are always firm and straightforward to all of us but also shows tenderness and love at all times. The team which includes Ms. Maria who is like a Tita to most of us, who is there to support as well the team by providing our weekly tasks, only want the best for all of us. They see the potentials of every scholar ready to be unleashed. The labor and the hard work are provided by the team to make sure that these potentials will be birthed into the reality.
2. Tasks and assignments are very relevant and up-to-date. Minimizing the theoretical approach but rather focusing on what is really going on in the actual market is the best hands-on learning I have experienced.
3. Generously sharing the knowledge/know-how, tools and applications being used by a real Virtual assistant is really a mark of their value of giving back. I often see a lot of paid courses like this amount to a minimum price of PHP 5,000+++ and I am truly grateful for the opportunity given to me to experience and learn this course at no cost at all. That is why I truly value the time spent by the team to our class.
4. Lastly, and this is the greatest lesson I learned with VAG Team, it is the lesson of DREAMING again and SHARING. I knew about this before but somehow I lost my track. My dreams and visions were temporarily blurred and covered by clouds of problems and testings of life. This group made me realize again that the best is yet to come. There is more to life and I just need to keep moving forward. “Keep moving forward” is a famous line by Walt Disney and was used in the movie entitled Meet the Robinsons. Sir Jay and Ms. Lyn consistently reminding us to not lose hope in life. Keep dreaming and keep hoping that the best is yet to come. Believe that each new day will bring me closer to my dreams. After equipping myself, I should never forget to pass on the baton to others. Sharing what I have and making other people’s lives better. I am now believing that someday I can influence and motivate other people to strive more in life. I want to make a dent in this world and make it a better place. “Thank you” is not enough how much I truly appreciate your time and effort being spent with us in training and equipping us to confidently face the online world of freelancing. I will be forever grateful to all your team for providing me a new sense of purpose and direction in life that I will continually treasure in my journey to success. I truly believe that you do this for love. Love for your passions, calling and countrymen. May your team continue to flourish and make a difference in this world. I believe that the Lord sees your labor and nothing of it will be in vain. As you freely give, the Lord will freely reward you a million fold.
Kudos to all VAG Group and continue to spread the love and excellence!!!
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.1 Corinthians 15:28”
